The Los Angeles County African American Infant and Maternal Mortality Prevention Initiative (AAIMM) represents a collaborative effort spearheaded by the Department of Public Health, in partnership with First 5 LA, the LA County Department of Health Services, the Department of Mental Health, and various community organizations. This coalition also includes mental and health care providers, funders, and members of the community.
Our unified goal is to address and reduce the alarmingly high rates of infant and maternal mortality among Black families in Los Angeles County, striving to ensure healthier and more joyful birth experiences.
